How to Make Pine Needle Tea

How to Make Pine Needle Tea and It's Benefits:
1) Collect a branch of white pine needles off of a living tree (younger trees provide more nutritional value)

 2) Remove needles and also the brown tip from the needles. Also watch for dead needles, bugs, and any needles that are discolored or have an odd smell.

 3) Once the brown tips are removed you should end up with something like this, collect and chop.
4) The finer you decide to chop your the more nutrients you will be able to extract from the pine needles...NOTE pay attention to your filter as you will be drinking needles if you chop too thin
 5) Rough size of the amount needed for roughly a GSI cup or half of a Pathfinder Cup (i.e. 16 oz of tea)
 6) Mix water with pine needles at a ration of two parts water to 1 part pine needles for vitamins/nutrients and for a medicinal tea mix 1:1.
7) Water and needles mixed
8) Vertical view
9) Add heat source
10) Bring tea to boil then decrease heat and let steep until much of the color is gone from the needles. Alternative method*** boil water alone and then add the pine needles and let them steep on low heat until most of the green is gone from the tea. This is the best method to us in order to keep as many nutrients in the drink as possible.
11) Another boil shot
12) Noticed the decreased color in the needles
13) Pour your tea into a container via filtered lid. Alternative method* leave tea in the container to steep as long as desired (some leave the tea sit over night to warm up in the morning).
14) This is the color of the tea once it has steeped, tip back and enjoy!
